DineTracer  /  Restaurant POS Lookup
Free tool · restaurant POS intelligence

What POS system does a restaurant use?

Search a restaurant to see the point-of-sale we've detected — free. Built for POS, merchant-services, and payments reps who need to know before they call.

One restaurant at a time · public data only · coverage: CA, NY, TX, PA, CT, VA, GA, MA.

How it works

Detected from public signals.

A restaurant's own online-ordering page, website, and booking links usually reveal the POS or ordering platform behind them. We read those public signals across our coverage states and attach the result to the restaurant — no private or personal data, ever.

Why it matters

A restaurant picks its POS once — at the start.

The winnable moment is before a restaurant opens, while it's still choosing systems. Knowing who already runs Toast or Square (and who runs nothing yet) tells a POS or payments rep exactly who's a switch target and who's still up for grabs. The free lookup answers one at a time; an account gives you every pre-opening restaurant in your territory, with the POS attached.

Questions

Frequently asked.

How do you know what POS a restaurant uses?
We detect it from public signals — a restaurant's own online-ordering page, website, and booking links often reveal the point-of-sale or ordering platform behind them. We never use private or personal data.
Which restaurants can I look up?
Restaurants in our coverage — California, New York, Texas, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Virginia, Georgia, and Massachusetts, expanding. New and pre-opening restaurants are our focus, so coverage is strongest there.
Is it really free?
Yes — the POS lookup is free, one restaurant at a time. The full record (exact address, filing date, license status) and the ability to pull every restaurant in your territory are part of a DineTracer account.
Can I get a list of every restaurant on a given POS?
Not from the free tool — that's the paid product. With an account you can filter every pre-opening and new restaurant by POS, state, and signal, and export the ones you want.
What if you don't have the restaurant?
If it's outside our coverage states, or so new it hasn't filed a public record yet, we won't have it. Coverage grows every week.
