A restaurant's website, online-ordering page and booking links often show the POS or ordering system behind them. We check those public pages and record what we find. We never use private or personal data.

Some results are online-ordering tools, such as DoorDash's direct ordering or Slice. We label those as online ordering so you can tell them apart from a POS.

Why POS and payments reps use it

If a restaurant runs Toast or Square, you know who you're up against before you call. If the result is “No POS detected”, we found no POS on its website, which makes it worth a closer look. The restaurant may still have one.

Questions about the POS lookup

How do you know what POS a restaurant uses?
We check the restaurant's own website and online-ordering links. Many of them show the system behind them, such as a Toast or Square ordering page. We never use private or personal data.
Which restaurants can I look up?
Restaurants in the states we've checked so far: California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, Washington and the District of Columbia. We add states as checks finish. Restaurants that haven't opened yet usually have no website, so there's nothing to check until they do.
Is it really free?
Yes. The lookup is free, one restaurant at a time. With a DineTracer account you can search every restaurant in your territory and unlock the full record (address, filing date and license type) for 25 credits per lead.
Can I get a list of every restaurant on a given POS?
Not from the free tool. With an account, POS & Tech Lookup covers every checked restaurant in your states, and POS Opportunities gives you a ranked call list of restaurants where we found no supported POS.
What if you don't have the restaurant?
It may be outside the states we cover, or too new to have a public record yet. We pull new filings every 4 hours.
