DineTracer  /  Use cases  /  Kitchen Equipment & Supply
For restaurant equipment, refrigeration and supply dealers

Reach the kitchen while it's still being built.

Ranges, hoods, walk-ins and smallwares get bought during the build-out. DineTracer finds restaurants in their build-out permits and pre-opening filings, so you can quote before the kitchen is finished.

Free to start. No credit card.

Most of a new kitchen's equipment is bought before opening day.

Once a restaurant opens, the big equipment is installed and paid for. What's left is service work and replacements, against the dealer who did the fit-out.

A build-out permit is a public record that a space is being turned into a restaurant, often months before it opens. DineTracer reads those permits, along with pre-opening inspections and new food-service licenses, and checks for new ones every 4 hours.

Where the data comes from

Built on public recordsEvery lead starts from a government record: a liquor-license filing, a building or health permit, or a business registration. Each one names the agency it came from. We add details from Google business listings and the business’s own website.
Owner contact when a filing names oneWhen a public business-registration filing lists an owner or registered agent, the lead can include their phone and email, which may be personal. A data provider does the matching. Numbers on Do-Not-Call lists are left out.

Questions

Do permits name the restaurant?
Not always. Many building permits list only the address and the work. When exactly one business is on record at that address, we show it.
Where do you have build-out permits?
Build-out permits come from 16 cities. Our home page lists them.
How early is a build-out permit?
Usually weeks to months before opening, depending on the city and the size of the job.
Which states do you cover?
The Restaurant Database (liquor licenses) covers California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois (Chicago only), Massachusetts (Boston only), New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, Washington and the District of Columbia. Early leads (pre-opening filings, build-out permits and new food-service licenses) add Delaware, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Nevada, North Carolina and Tennessee. The map on our home page shows what we have in each state.
Where does the data come from?
Public government records: liquor-license filings, building and health permits, and business registrations. We add details from Google business listings and the business's own website. When a public business-registration filing names an owner or registered agent, a data provider matches that person to a phone number and email address, which can be personal. Numbers on Do-Not-Call lists are left out. We don't scrape LinkedIn, social networks or people-search websites.
